Used in baitless trail sets, traps were set along fences for predators. The cages took red and grey fox, fisher, ‘coon, porcupines, rabbits and skunks. After building a number of these traps in several sizes, it seems obvious that they would work for beaver also. Adding to the list of successes, the traps were then placed in two feet of water to take beaver and muskrats. Not only could the standard 12x18x39 beaver trap be used on its side for bobcat and fox, the bobcat and fox trap could be used to take water animals, beaver and muskrats.
