WASHINGTON STATE BOBCAT TRAPPING

December 2016

“On pre-baited cat areas with hanging beaver baits where cat activity was evident, my beginning cat and beaver trapping partner set out 12 traps; five different styled cage traps that were drop door, pedal activated, and spring bifold door traps. I did not go with him; the weather was dry and in the low 40’s. I forgot to tell him to cover the tops of the traps with material to prevent freezing.

It immediately rained hard which was followed by two weeks of freezing weather. During this time, all the traps froze up except the Comstock bi-fold cat traps. He caught three cats in them; one 24-pound male in an open-ended trail set and two in beaver baited sets with one door open.

We recommend the Comstock Bi-fold without reservation. It does not freeze up, very versatile in set application, easy to bed and conceal.”
